Dr. Werner Lohwasser, 58, is CEO and COO of TDK Electronics. The company develops and manufactures electronic components and systems. It belongs to the Tokyo based TDK Group, a world leader in electronic solutions for the smart society. Continuous transformation is one of the key elements in the history of TDK Electronics and in the career of Dr. Werner Lohwasser.
He joined the company in 1996 as a product development engineer in Heidenheim. In 2001 he became CTO of the Evora plant in Portugal. The site and the corresponding Tantalum Capacitors business was sold to the Kemet Corporation in 2006 and Dr. Werner Lohwasser became General Manager of the Evora plant. One year later he took over as Vice President of the Kemet Tantalum Capacitors Business in the Americas in Mexico, before returning to Germany still with Kemet, and in 2013 returning to the predecessor company of TDK Electronics as General Manager of the Business Group Aluminum and Film Capacitors.
In 2018 he became COO and CTO of TDK Electronics, and in 2022 CEO and COO. He was sponsor of the industry 4.0 initiative that started in 2020 and has led to more digitalization, higher productivity and even better product quality in the company’s more than 20 manufacturing sites worldwide. Dr. Werner Lohwasser is married and has two children.
