Dr. Amrein has more than 30 years of experience in the electrical industry. After completing his doctor thesis in physics in the semiconductor area of the Siemens Research Center in the early-90s, he worked in the research Labs of Philips in Aachen, as CIO at BCcomponents in Eindhoven and since 2003 at Vishay when Vishay acquired BCc. First job in Vishay was the worldwide integration of all production sites and business processes of BCc into Vishay’s global organization. Since 2008, he has been responsible for the global optimization of business and production planning for all Vishay’s Passive sites. Since 2011, he is also Business Process Owner for Planning and Manufacturing Passives. In 2018 he has been asked to find a MES software for Vishay which he is rolling out across the 50+ manufacturing sites since summer 2019. This mammoth project is still in its early stages. He lives in Heide, North Germany.
